The Pros
Serviceability is unmatched. Components snap in without tools. Power efficiency is higher because AC/DC conversion happens once at the rack level, not in every server PSU.
The Cons
It's an 'all-or-nothing' commitment. You cannot put a standard Dell server in an OCP rack. Supply chains are also geared towards hyperscalers, making procurement difficult for smaller enterprises.
