This Privacy Policy describes how Cobra Connect Distribution ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa.

1. Information We Collect

As a B2B procurement platform, we collect information necessary to facilitate commercial transactions and technical support. This includes:

  • Corporate Data: Company name, registration number, VAT number, and industry.
  • Personnel Data: Name, work email address, job position, and professional phone number of procurement officers or technical staff.
  • Transactional Data: Purchase history, payment confirmations, and credit application details.
  • Technical Data: IP address, device identifiers, and platform usage analytics via cookies to improve the procurement interface.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To verify business accounts and establish trade credit facilities.
  • To process and fulfill orders, including the sharing of delivery details with logistics partners.
  • To provide critical technical updates, RMA notifications, and warranty alerts for purchased hardware.
  • To comply with South Africa tax and accounting regulations (SARS).

3. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell your data to marketing agencies. We only share data with service providers who are essential to our core business operations:

Logistics Partners

Courier services (e.g., Courier Guy, DSV) receive delivery address and contact details.

Payment Gateways

Peach Payments or Netcash process encrypted financial data directly. We do not store full card numbers.

OEM Partners

Hardware manufacturers (e.g., Dell, Cisco) may receive end-user data for warranty registration purposes.

Credit Bureaus

Information may be shared for business credit vetting as authorized by your account application.

4. Your Rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to access, rectify, or request the deletion of your personal information. Requests can be submitted to our Information Officer at sales@cobraconnect.co.za.

5. User Data Deletion Instructions

If you wish to remove your account and all associated personal data from the Cobra Connect Distribution platform (including social login data from Facebook or Google), please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account dashboard and navigate to "Account Details".
  2. Submit a support ticket with the category "Account Deletion Request".
  3. Alternatively, email sales@cobraconnect.co.za directly from your registered email address with the subject line "DELETE MY DATA".

Your request will be processed within 72 hours. Note that certain transaction records must be retained for 5 years to comply with SARS tax laws, but all other personal data will be permanently anonymized.

Security Commitment

We employ industry-standard encryption (AES-256) and secure socket layers (SSL) for all data in transit. Our servers are hosted in high-security South African Tier-3 data centers with ISO 27001 certification.
